Hi Fabiola-

Q- What are you wearing today?
A- I’m wearing a dress that I purchased on Stopstaring.com, belt is from Winners and so are the earrings. And red high heels are from Shoedazzle.com

Q- When/where would you wear this?
A- I would wear this outfit on a night out with your girlfriends or a dinner date with someone you’ve already been on dates with. Not on a first date.

Q- How would you describe your personal style?
A- Classic pieces mixed with bold colours. A lot of a-line, tapered dresses, and pencil skirts. I’d say it is Jackie – O, mixed with the fun of early seasons Carrie Bradshaw, with the sexiness of Victoria Beckham and a bit of Kate Middleton.

Q- Who’s your favorite style icon?
A- All the 4 ladies listed above. But if I had to pick just one then it would have to be Jackie O.

Q- What shopping secrets would you like to share?
A- One woman’s “trash” is another woman’s treasure. Consignment, consignment, consignment! I get most my clothes at consignment stores. I always get compliments on pieces found there, and you can’t find them anywhere else. I love consignment stores. Especially for handbags and mod dresses.

Q- What’s your current obsession?
A- I was obsessed with finding the perfect classic, black pumps. Almond toe, non platform, at least 4 inches in height (but not over 4.5) and tapered looking. I stumbled across them during this photoshoot. It was meant to be! I bought ‘em!

Q- What comes to mind in five words or less?
A- I love my new pumps!

Thanks Fabiola!

It was quite amusing how the date of our photo shoot bounced back and forth like a tennis match. We ultimately picked the first rainy day in several weeks. When we met, the light was dropping fast, the sidewalks were crowded and I was concerned the end result would be somewhat experimental. Fabiolia’s reply was, “Let’s experiment!” Her bold, bright outfit was perfect to cut through the dull, dreary afternoon.

Oh, you should know Fabiola modeled in her teens but she’s a well established sales professional.

I met Jutta early one morning on her way to work. No sooner than the conversation started, her bus arrived. Fast forward a week or two and by random chance we met again. Her style is impeccable. Her wardrobe is built around neutral colors and several basic pieces. She likes to celebrate her femininity by dressing nice.

When I saw Rose I was immediately attracted to the geometrical pattern and mono-
chromatic color of her dress. However, the pattern looked familiar. I did a
quick Google search of Yves Saint Laurent work. It was identical to his iconic
Mondrian dress. YSL was inspired by a contemporary artist of the day, hence
the name of the dress. Rose bought her dress in a boutique in Hong Kong.

I really like the detail on Dahye’s dress. I asked for the designer’s name but her dress and heels came from Korea.

Hi Mabel-

Q- What are you wearing today?
A- My Calvin Klein dress, Gap espadrilles, Land’s End purse and a bracelet from Front & Company (a consignment store on Main St.).

Q- When/where would you wear this?
A- Dinner, date, movies.

Q- How would you describe your personal style?
A- Classic and clean lines.

Q- Who’s your favorite style icon?
A- Marlene Dietrich, she transcends gender definitions of style and fashion.

Q- What shopping secrets would you like to share?
A- Find the style, cuts & colours that look best on your body type and skin tone. A brutally honest friend always helps too!

Q- What’s your current obsession?
A- Belts & silk scarves …. and no, not the puffy types of scarves you hate R!c! ha ha

Q- What comes to mind in five words or less?
A- Know thy body.

R!c I also have some fashion advice from my mom. She taught me, “Sexy can be classy and not trashy. If you’re showing cleavage, pair it with a pants suit or a pencil skirt. If you’re showcasing your legs in a mini, keep your upper body modestly covered.”

Thanks Mabel! In essence, highlight one feature or the other but not both at the same time.

I wasn’t sure if this shoot would actually take place because so many problems occurred initially. First, I bought an accessory to complement Mabel’s outfit. I left it in the cab… Secondly, I didn’t realize the dock where I went sailing a year ago was private. When we arrived, we weren’t allowed past the gate. However the dock’s caretaker gave us a list of nearby marinas. We losing so much time, I began to worry because we both had other plans for 5:00pm. When we arrived at the second marina we were able to walk along the dock. After taking the first shot, we got a few curious glances but no one questioned us. The rest of the story is posted above.

I met Mabel a few weeks earlier but today was the day we
met to plan our first shoot. We chatted over tea about a
variety of topics. When the discussion ventured to
photography and the shoot, I thought it would be sad
to let her leave without photographing her lovely
outfit. I absolutely love how she mixed and matched
several pieces while limiting her color pallet to
   black and tan. Bravo!
