Time passes so quickly. It’s mid-August and I interviewed and photographed Ultra Rich Asian Girl Chelsea Jiang in March. Click Mathematician, Model & Mommy to view her pregnancy shoot.

Fast forward to June and Chelsea gave birth to her first child. With her son at the age of 3-months we decided to reconnect. I started our conversation by asking if motherhood was what she expected. While she’s grateful for every precious moment with her son she was quite honest with her responses.

  • Q1 – Is motherhood what you expected?
CJ – No, it’s a lot harder and more emotional that I imagined. It’s a lot of tears and laughter.
Its attention and care 24×7 and it’s the hardest job in the world.
I’m within the first 100 days so my baby wakes up every two hour [night & day] for feedings.
My baby won’t latch on so I have to bottle my milk every three hours.
  •

  • Q2 – What happened to bring the tears?
CJ – My baby was sick and I cried the entire day.
  •

  • Q3 – What made you laugh/smile?
CJ – Every day is something new. He’ll make a new noise or make a new face.
He’s a serious baby and rarely smiles. So when he smiles it makes me smile.
  •

  • Q4 – What’s the story behind your son’s name Charles?
CJ – I picked the name because it’s elegant and full of [English] history. And both our names start with [the syllable] CH.
  •

  • Q5 – Your nanny seems really good with Charles, what’s her name?
    CJ – Coco
  •

  • Q6 – Are you able to meet-up with other moms with newborns?
CJ – It’s hard because our babies are still so young. It’s a lot of work to go out.
We’ll be ready to leave then the baby will need his diaper changed. It’s really hard to make plans.
  •

  • Q7 – I noticed all your house guests are all aunts and nieces. Do you have any nephews?
CJ – No, Charles is the first boy!
  •

  • Q8 – You mentioned you’re an only child. Will Charles has a brother or sister?
CJ – Yes, Charles will have a brother or sister in the future.

Today I enjoyed the thoughtful “touches” Sahika used to create her outfit. It was the perfect complement to the cherry blossoms in bloom: light and colorful. When we met her coral colored jeans caught my eye. She balanced it with a light tan trench coat and matching platform pumps. Her two toned purse matched both her coat and blouse. Her earrings fluttered with the slightest breeze. Then I realized the blue feathers of her earrings matched her blue fingernail polish. I also appreciated her minimalist approach for selecting one signature piece of jewelry (her ring). Her outfit also included a backpack which was hidden from view. She’s enrolled in an Event Management program. After we finished shooting she dashed off to assist her classmates with a group project.

It was a warm sunny day when I met Zara Durrani at Malary’s Fashion Network. We travelled to Surrey/Cloverdale for the purpose of picking her “Raincouver” outfit. We decided to postpone the rainy day shoot and Zara picked a spring dress and shawl. The owner suggested the earrings and braclet. I picked the purse and heels from a store downtown.

During the shoot Zara shared the following information about herself:

  • Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn are her fashion icons.
  • In 2011 – 2012 she was the Producer and Host of “Life & Style with Zara”.
  • She spends her time traveling between Vancouver, Los Angeles and Toronto.
    • She’s been a recent guest star on TV shows Psych and Arrow.
  • She’s a yoga instructor
  • She owns a Vancouver-based production company which helps businesses market themselves.
  • She’s involved with Fashion Hope which strives to end human trafficking.

Needless to say she’s a busy lady!

Mia was taking break between classes. I asked about her outfit and she told me she built it around her cream colored pencil skirt. She tried different color blouses but ultimately decided to match the color of her skirt. I like the small details in her belt and blouse. She wore this outfit because she was giving a Finance presentation for her Masters class.

The rain has returned and so have rain boots sigh… So when Emily walked by wearing a pair of stiletto boots I literally did a double-take. They were amazing. She bought them at a vintage store so the designer’s name remains a mystery. However they weren’t the inspiration for her outfit. She built her look around her earrings! She realized she wasn’t wearing them and quickly put them in as we were chatting.

As I was posting these photos I was impressed with how well the dark gold color of her asymmetrical blouse matched the dark gold overlay on her boots!
