I met Melissa, her husband and daughter at the Luxury & Super Car Weekend. Her favorite vehicle the Rolls Royce Wraith.
I loved the subtle details that made up her outfit. There were so many nice touches, I added photo captions. She built her outfit around her summery white blazer. Her shiny burgundy pants were a nod to fall. From there she added a necklace, purse and a pair of “must have” black pumps. She said her outfit made her feel “confident, classic and stylish with a dash of sexy.”
To my surprise her shiny pants were NOT leather or pleather, they were died denim! She said denim is more flattering and tends to hold its shape better that leather. Her jeans are brand new so we’re both wondering how shiny they will be after several washing machine cycles.
Lastly, Melissa is a Event Director.

Mother’s Day reminded me of how my mom’s sense of style influenced me. As a young boy I didn’t give too much thought to my mom’s dresses and outfits. But over time, I grew to appreciate the “Oh wow!” factor that came with femininity. While style can’t be inherited it is something that can be observed, appreciated and learned. Parenting is hard work and messy most times but I like how my mom and Sunan strive to balance fashion and motherhood. Incidentally, I photographed the mother/daughter duo on Mother’s Day last year. Click Sunan & Sienna to see what they wore last year. Incidentally, Sunan isn’t a model. She’s the founder of a local financial technology company.
