Sidewalk Style – Week 10 With Weymi

Mar, 8th, 2015

When Weymi entered the coffee shop I noticed her long legs, purse and scarf. However, her outfit was a bit of a mystery. At a first glance it looked like she was wearing a miniskirt. As we began chatting she mentioned she was wearing H&M shorts and a tank top underneath a jacket purchased in Taiwan. I like how she mixed a couple low end brands with a few high end brands. I also admired her bold color combination. Black and orange are rarely worn together because they are strongly associated with Halloween (and the BC Lions). However I imagine her brightly colored Hermes Birkin purse and scarf gave her the confidence to push the boundaries.

Hangr Inspired Shoot With My Friend Nina

Feb, 15th, 2015

I met the COO of the Hangr a couple weeks ago. He described a new fashion app   for iOS and Android smartphones. It sounded unique so I’ll partner with their team in the near future.
Imagine for a moment you’re standing in front of the change room mirror and you’re not quite sure about the outfit you’re wearing. You’ve add a few accessories to see if that helps. The sales clerk is busy and you’re best friend has a completely different style. What would you do?
The team at Hangr has developed an app that helps answer the age old question of “How do I look?”   The app allows you to upload a selfie and receive feedback and inspiration from the Hangr community. The COO mentioned they were striving for a five minute response time. Secondly the app has a feature that lets you blur your face. This allows you to remain anonymous and avoid receiving ratings based on looks. Lastly, the app tallies and displays the number of likes and dislikes to help you make a decision. I’ve described the app’s basic functions but they plan to add additional features and partner with boutiques and bloggers as well. Visit for details.
Much love to the ladies at Mine & Yours Boutique at 1060 Hornby St. for granting Nina and myself exclusive use of their change rooms.

Sidewalk Style Week 31 @ the Caribbean Days Festival with Trasie

Jul, 28th, 2013

I have short hair and I visit the gym regularly so Trasie caught my eye. Short hair is easy to maintain but you need frequent haircuts to keep your appearance looking fresh. Trasie has her hair cut every two weeks.
She’s a fashionista at heart but today she’s dressed casually for the warm weather.
It’s been a few years since she’s competed in a bodybuilding competition but she couldn’t help but laugh after I asked her to strike a pose.
Trasie’s wearing:
Blouse The Gap
Shorts Old Navy
Heels The Gap

Sidewalk Style – Week 30 with Vincci

Vincci’s cute print shorts were the inspiration for her outfit. So she paired them with a blouse and sweater.

Blouse Costa Blanca

Sidewalk Style – Week 19 with JiYoung

May, 6th, 2013

JiYoung honestly seemed perplexed when I told her about my blog. Reading between the lines… she didn’t feel she fit the image of a fashionista.
I thought she looked great. She had a nice smile and long hair. I liked her layered skort (skirt + shorts), light brown color pallet and lace-up heels.
Honestly, I’ll photograph anyone that takes the time and effort to coordinate a fashionable outfit.

Sidewalk Style – Week 1

Jan, 6th, 2013

I met Jen and her girlfriend Carol while they were shopping on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Most black and grey outfits are paired with black coats. Occasionally I’ll see someone wearing black and grey with a red coat. However, I really like Jen’s choice of a tan colored coat.

I like Yuka’s outfit. She was quite kind in ensuring I had the designer information for each piece of her outfit. Most of it came from Japan.
